This is me. I am just like you. I am a mom, a wife, and soon to be RN.
I've cloth diapered my kids in SoftBums. The ONLY thing I advocate for is MOMs. My only view on Mom's and mothering is that as long as your child(ren) are loved and taken care of, not hurt or abused, I could care less how you do it. Breastmilk or Formula, Cloth or Disposables, Organic or Main Stream I believe all mothers are doing the best they can and I have zero right to impose any of MY PERSONAL views on anybody. I support Mom's. I support Families.
I live in MN. I have been sewing since I can remember. Most of my earliest sewing memories have my Mother harking on my technique over my shoulder:
"Don't pull"

"Don't pull"
"Don't push"
"Let go"
"Don't do that"
Etc, etc, etc.
She taught me to sew, and I thank her everyday (now) for it. It is a talent I will teach my son AND daughter.
I started off sewing for fun, lots of kitty or puppy clothes, when I was little then into quilting, kids clothes, and now diapers. I can sew almost anything, and I design a lot of my own patterns. Sewing is my retreat, I put on headphones and jam in peace, usually while my children are sleeping. My husband thinks I am crazy, sitting up until 4 am sewing, but it is my time. I sew to hear myself think and put a creative an anal-retentive analytic side of me to use.
I also knit, crochet, craft, landscape, plumbing, electrical, and general household fixes. My husband doesn't know how lucky he is.
